<remarks>This is a great, but inarguably B-grade, film.
The black-and-white Detour was written and directed by Edgar G. Ulmer,
and shot in six days on an extremely limited budget. It looks it, too.
But Detour really is a classic, and set the noir-style template of
disillusion and cruel fate that marked many later postwar films.
