• Indexer Application

  • Gathers and stores text

• Inverted Index File contains entries for each word:

  • Location within file ( for phrase matching)
  • Enclosing field or meta tag
  • Pointer to document info

• Document Information File

  • URL, title, size, date, description, etc.
