• Close integration is a good thing

• It's a checklist item

• Some OS CMSs have already

  • WebDAV Search

  • Zope

  • Red Hat CMS (but RedHat site search by Google)

  • OpenCMS (Lucene)

• Note: don't write your own search engine

  • it's harder than it looks

  • users will keep asking for new features

  • there are many good packages available
