Search Interface Should Fit In

• people look for the Search field, so make sure they can find it.

• follow standard rules (use the word "search" not "find" or an icon)

• simple defaults are best

  • build the smarts into the results layouts

• complex forms for power users

• usability testing will help find a good balance
